Also includes the latest radio single “Mother’s Birthday Song’ which Daniel performed on ‘Mornings with Kerri-Anne’ on Channel 9 in August. The album also contains two stunning duets with country legends Charley Pride ‘Crystal Chandeliers’ and Loretta Lynn ‘I Wanna Be Free’.

DVD – At Home In Ireland

Join Daniel  as he shares the sights and sounds of his homeland with a wonderful 95 minute  concert especially filmed at the Letterkenny Performance Hall, in County Donegal.  Journey through breathtaking Ireland and visit some of Daniel’s favourite locations where he  performs renditions of ‘Destination Donegal’, ‘Dear Old Galway Town’, and ‘My Lovely Rose Of Clare’ amongst the twenty-six songs featured on this DVD. For ‘It Is No Secret’ Daniel takes us to the church where he was baptised, received first communion and later married his lovely wife Majella.

Never one to disappoint his fans, Daniel also sings an array of country and traditional pop favourites , which also includes duets with and solo performances by his long-time singing partner Mary Duff. Also includes the duet of the hit radio song ‘Save Your Love’ which is Daniel and Mary’s wonderful rendition of Renée and Renato’s #1 song from 1982.

 Released this year to celebrate the Fureys 30th anniversary, 30 Years On is a full-length concert recorded live in Vicar Street, Dublin and features 30 tracks of classics and some new material. Lineup includes George & Eddie Furey, Davey Arthur, Luke Crowley & Dominic Leech.

The Fureys & Davey Arthur have come a long way since 1978 when the band (including all four brothers – George, Eddie, Finbar & Paul) was formed, literally on the back of a road accident. There have been a number of lineup changes over the years (Finbar left the band in 1996 , Paul died in 2002 and Davey Arthur rejoined the band in 2003 after a 10 year absence), but  this has never stopped the essence of the band, who are renowned for some of the most stirring music ever to capture the public imagination. Their folk based music has received standing ovations in some of the biggest concert halls of the world, making this album a must have for any fan of Irish Folk.

In 1981 The Fureys single ‘When You  Were Sweet Sixteen’ achieved HP # 14 on the UK charts. They were one of the first Irish folk bands to get into the British charts. ‘When You  Were Sweet Sixteen’ achieved HP # 9 on the ARIA Charts in 1982, the single charted for an amazing 26 weeks.

Over the years some of their greatest admirers have ranged from the neighbours they grew up with in Ballyfermot to the top sports people and politicians of the world and have performed for leaders such as former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Irish President Mary McAleese and Pope John Paul. Tony Blair has publicly stated that his favourite peace song of all time is the Fureys “Green Fields of France”.

Mary Duff’s new album LOVE SONGS will be released May 3rd, just in time for Mother’s Day!

The album contains 20 beautiful love songs  including “The Power Of Love”, “Crazy”, “Hopelessly Devoted To You” plus 3 previously unreleased tracks. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon!

Mary will be accompanying Daniel on his Tour of Australia and New Zealand in August/September 2008.

Marc Roberts with 2008 Eurosong contestants

Marc Roberts has been selected as one of the final six, in the bid to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.  Marc, of course, is no stranger to the competition after representing Ireland in 1997 & coming a credible second with “Mysterious Woman”.  Incidentally it’s the last credible result achieved by Ireland in the competition.  After 10 years of not featuring in the results a decision was made to review the rules.  Marc felt now would be a good time to make a return visit!
